I love to travel. If I could do one thing forever, I think it may be travel. I just like seeing new things. It amazes me to see Little Rock’s growth but as I visit other cities it really shows me how far Little Rock has to go.
Here is a rundown of what I’ve been doing for the last month and where I plan to go in the next month.
At the end of May I spent a few days in New Haven, Connecticut. It was a beautiful city and it seems that Yale owns the entire city. Most buildings are over 100 years old and it’s definitely a site to see. I also took a short train ride to NYC for only $30 (roundtrip). I spent a day there and I’ve posted pictures in my gallery.
The next week, I took a trip to St. Louis for a friend’s bachelor party. We watched Albert Pujols hit a game winning home run against the Houston Astros (game summary). We spent some time in the city and ate Lamberts and The Cheesecake Factory. Nathan’s wedding went great and I’m hoping to get pictures from both events really soon from Chris.
I’m going to Tunica for another bachelor party next weekend. Then the 23rd, I’ll be on a cruise that travels Jamaica, Cozumel, and the Cayman Islands. When I return, I’ll be making another trip to Detroit and possible a trip to Hanover, NH. Another wedding on July 15th and then a trip to Des Moines, IA (why is Iowa “IA” and not “IO”).
I’m excited. And I’ll take pictures for the memories.

Alright… I haven’t been writing for a while now. You may wonder why. It’s a combination of a lot of things but mainly due to comment spam.
You might think I’m kidding but here’s the deal… Some nights I get the courage to write something new. I go to my blog and I realize that I have 1455 comments that need to be moderated. I am a little compulsive so my mind will not rest until I review each comment. So, I review the comments and 1454 of them are spam. I tell myself, “I should implement a plug-in to keep people from comment spam. After marking 1454 comments as spam, I get tired, and go to bed.
Tonight, I finally implemented a random image generator to keep bots from spamming on my site… hopefully this will kill the majority (not all) of the spam that gets put on this site.

I was lucky enough to appear on Talk Business with Roby Brock on Channel 16. I really enjoy his show and I appreciate his support. Therefore, I’m going to recommend you all go and watch his show. It airs on Sunday nights on Fox at 10:00pm. Sorry to anyone outside of Arkansas, you won’t see Roby.

Last week I was at the EAST Conference (if you haven’t gone, you’d be amazed at what these high school students are doing) and I wrote down my favorite quote. This qoute is from Jerry Adams of Acxiom.
We have to think about the opportunity cost of this shotgun style, growth approach.
I think it may just be that I like the words “opportunity cost”, “shotgun”, and “growth”. But, I thought it was put well. Jerry is a guy that I have a lot of respect for. He is great with words and people. He’s done a lot of great things for Arkansas and serves on many boards. He is well known for his contributions throughout the State of Arkansas.
His point was understood by everyone at the table. If you grow in a few random spots, it’s more difficult to manage because you spread yourself thin.

Okay… that’s my free personality profile. I’d like to see everyone else’s, so please post some comments with your profile. I think these things are a lot like the zodiac sign. You know, you crack open the paper and you read every zodiac sign and they fit perfectly with you. But, even after taking that into account, I’m pretty confident that this thing is pretty accurate. I’ve sent it around to the office and asked everyone to try theirs out and they even seem to think it’s accurate.
Anyways, in everything you do it’s really important to see what you’re good at and what you’re bad at. When you need help, you need to ask for it. Generally, the smaller the group, the more efficient but you can’t do everything yourself. If you’re not good at something, don’t fake it… get good help.

Just thought I’d let everyone know that I’ve been so incredibly busy that I haven’t been able to post much. Recently, I bought a new desktop and customized it a lot. I’ve been configuring a broken apache, php, and pear. I’ve also messed a little bit with Ruby on Rails. While I’m at home, I spend more time reading than anything else. I TiVo “Office” which I’m convinced is the funniest show on TV and Jim Cramer’s Mad Money (although I don’t watch that as often as I record it). If you have any other shows you would recommend for me, I’d love the suggestions.
Okay… the point of this entry. I spend so much time reading and I’m amazed at all of the information online. There are some really big names publishing really valuable information online. I ran past a link that posted a good list. If you’re interested in continuing your education, check these out. If you’re not interested in continuing your education you probably accidentally ran up on this blog and will never come back anywyas. I know my loyal viewers will enjoy these…
Without further ado…

Lately, I’ve been wondering what makes something addictive. It really seems weird that some there are things in the world that you just can’t get enough of. I’m not talking about a physical addiction like drugs, alcohol, etc. But addictions like stumbleupon, pornography, facebook, gambling, etc. What keeps these people attention? What keeps them wanting more? I haven’t figured out the answer but it sure is fun to think about.
If you’ve got any good links or a good explanation for me, I’d love to hear it.

Okay, once again, Hackoff.com is a fiction blook that posts new episodes daily. When a chapter is complete, they publish it to a PDF document. I then get the PDF document and read it on my PDA. Just recently they’ve started posting mp3 files. So, all you nonreaders can go out and listen to each and every episode. I’m now completely caught up and reading a new episode daily. It mixes technology, startup hassles, the dirty side of business, and overpriced stocks… then it wraps it all up in a murder mystery.
